Sunday dinner extremely disappointing. Menu said trio of Yorkies with meats stuffed into Yorkshire puddings, was never made aware of the lack of meats (no beef) so disappointed when beef never arrived, didn’t have roast chicken had a grilled chicken breast. Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, and stuffing all burnt. Roast honey parsnips were soggy and had no honey. Severed in a really small bowl. Gravy pre poured onto plate, on menu said jug of gravy. Meats lacked taste, were really tough.
Never checked on once by servers throughout the meal.
Definitely will not be returning, reviews do not live up to quality of food, best part of the meal was getting the bill for the chocolate coins.

Booked a table for Sunday dinner with my family. Was advised to pre-book the food. As we ate later in the afternoon, we missed the lunchtime rush and had the restaurant to ourselves. Service was great and food was fabulous. Would have been lovely if the fire was lit as it was a bit chilly but it did not spoil our visit. The views are wonderful and I can imagine the beer garden would be great in the summer.

Called in at this family/dog friendly pub & had a great meal with the family whilst on a short break in the area. Food, service & setting were 1st class. Lovely night views over Richmond when we left. Beer garden looked like a perfect place to be on a sunny day!

We, the four of us chose to eat here after reading the great reviews and was staying on the area. The location, parking, views, gardens, service were all super - but the food was disappointing - menu said a trio of sausages but only got 2 , menu said home made chips but they were clearly frozen oven fries (not even chips). A lot of the beef was quite tough, the menu said home made jam rolly poly, but that was debatable and it appeared to have been microwaved as it was very very hard and crisp.
The overall experience was pleasant and the prices were fair, but just the quality of the meals didn't live up to the reviews or the tempting menus. Maybe we fell on a bad day - everyone has them - will try again if in the area so not a disaster just a little disappointed
Cannot comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here

Absolutely the best place to stay. Very friendly staff and customers, excellent food, lovely accomodation.
The most dog friendly place I have ever stayed, they bend over backwards to make your stay perfect.
I will definitely be coming back to stay again. Cannot fault it in anyway at all.

Food is fairly inexpensive for the area but it was of below average quality. Of the three couples in the dining room, all complained about the quality of the food and one complained to the staff about the tiny portion of dessert served. A shame, as the pub is well located and has plenty of parking.

Once found, there was plenty of parking and the welcome was warm. On deciding to eat in the pub, the food was very hit and miss. Burger was fine, fish was way overcooked (as were the vegetables, in the microwave). There's a big sign outside advertising Theakstons' beer - but it is not available - that's not acceptable! Upon checking out after a single night's stay for two, as had been booked, I was presented with an inordinate bill, for 3 nights' stay. When I remonstrated, as the check-out date was two days hence on the 'system' , there was a lot of telephone conversation with 'someone', but I produced a copy of the booking with the cost shown and that is what I eventually did pay. The pub would benefit from a decent chef, a properly recorded booking and ordering system and beer, as advertised.

We stopped off for an early evening meal. My wife had a cup of tea and steak pie. The milk in her tea had slightly turned and the steak was very very salty. Quite basic pub food but good value. Not very busy considering the time of day which surprised us but was a blessing as we were very hungry so no delays encountered. We were slightly disappointed when we explained about the issue of the milk and the saltiness of the meat (my wife had to leave half as it was just too salty) the hosts seemed remarkably I bothered about the feedback. Not sure we would return based on the lack of concern over our experience it's a shame because it could have easily been a better experience had they showed more interest in our feedback. We weren't complaining as such, more pointing out issues so they knew for the sake of their own business.

Food was absolutely delicious. Lovely welcome, dog friendly, plenty of seating. The outside has the most beautiful views of Richmond. Some gorgeous horses in the next field too.

Just outside Richmond town Centre but very close, just up a hill across the river. The adjoining pub had some nice views of the castle and area. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us on an early breakfast. The room was comfortable for us and the two kids. Wasn’t noisy despite being connected to the pub on a Saturday night. Would definitely recommend this place again if we were staying in/near Richmond.
